Gold and Ivory 50th Wedding Anniversary Cake

A square three tier ivory cake with gold accents for a 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration at Above Restaurant in South Orange NJ.

The cake is French Vanilla with Hazelnut and Cappuccino cream fillings. It is decorated with golden fondant pearls, ivory drapes, golden roses and looped bows on top. We included a framed edible image from the couple's original wedding cake cutting ceremony.

The gold accents took time but are worth the effort to achieve a fine touch for such a special occasion. I used an edible gold lustre dust and dipped a small amount of alcohol on the brush to create a golden paint.

Pure White Bow Cake

The bride requested a three tier pure white square cake and she placed special emphasis on maintaining simple lines. So we designed a series of fondant bows on the front of each tier and the top tier is crowned with an arrangement of looped bows, which had a touch of pearl dust to draw your focus to them. The cake is chocolate with Madagascar vanilla bean butter cream in two tiers, while the middle tier is pure white cake with chocolate mousse. We delivered it to the Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield NJ and the cake sat on a table with the 18th hole of this beautiful golf course as a backdrop.
