Phineas and Ferb Birthday Cake

My kids love Phineas and Ferb, so I had a long line of expert advisers ready to help me correct a smile or a frown on the figurines I made for this cake: including Perry the Platypus, Isabella, Candace, Jeremy, Baljeet, Major Monogram and Dr. Doofenshmirtz. We built a roller coaster too!

Oh and the important bit! Inside are vanilla and chocolate cake tiers both have Oreo Cream filling.

Also we placed a cake topper on the cake depicting a biker couple!

Winnie the Pooh Baby Shower Cake

Love it when one of our brides returns to order a cake for a Baby Shower, Christening or First Birthday.

We carved a Winnie the Pooh from lemon cake with Key Lime cream filling and tiers of vanilla cake with Oreo Cream filling. Vanilla buttercream piping decorates the cake, along with a green fondant hunny pot, dripping with honey and little fondant bees buzzing around our silly bear!

Oreo 100th Birthday Cake and Cupcakes

Cake Fiction was honored last week to be asked to create a cake display to celebrate the 100th birthday of the Oreo. The display matches the special birthday logo developed by the Kraft creative team.

Two giant Oreos with chocolate fudge cake and Oreo cream filling are carefully decorated to look like the real cookie! Four cakes in the shape of balloons sit behind the cookies and they have the same flavor and filling combination.

We also made 350 chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting and each topped with a real Oreo!

Delivered to the Kraft Corporate Headquarters at East Hanover NJ.

Ladybug birthday cake and cookie favors

Very excited every time one of our customers returns for a new birthday surprise! I made a chocolate fudge cake with Oreo cream filling carved into a ladybug. The red and black fondant creates a vibrant display.

We also baked and decorated individually wrapped cookie favors to match the cake.

Disney Epcot Center Groom's Cake

Our family love visiting Disney, and Epcot is always a great theme park. So the kids were excited to see us construct the platform and then stack on it a white vanilla cake with Oreo cream filling in the shape of the Epcot Spaceship Earth Pavilion sphere.

The structure had to be solid enough to support the fondant dome on the two hour journey to a wedding reception at the Seaview Resort in Galloway NJ near Atlantic City.

Dora the Explorer and Boots Jungle Waterfall Cake

For the birthday party of a Dora the Explorer fan we made this two tier specialty fondant cake to deliver to Somerset NJ. The bottom tier is red velvet, cream cheese and white chocolate filling, and the top tier has chocolate fudge cake with Oreo cookie cream.

A waterfall cascades down the cake, a large gum paste palm tree and jungle foliage provide the perfect backdrop for a sculpted Dora the Explorer figurine and her sidekick Boots. You can't see it in this view, but the backpack of course has a great big smile!

Puff the Magic Dragon Cake

For a birthday party in the amazing Times Square Toys R Us store what better than a Puff the Magic Dragon 3-D Cake? Puff was made with layers of chocolate fudge cake and Oreo cream filling. The dragon is lying by the sea with his friend the birthday boy as Jackie Paper sitting beside him on the sand. The wings, flames and scales are all shaped from fondant and hand painted.

The wings were a challenge, we had to make sure they survived the trip to NY and stayed standing upright, and the same with the flames coming out of Puff's gaping jaws. We placed some extra fondant scales in different shades of green to support the base of each wing.

I loved delivering this cake, as I got to take my girls with me and ride the Ferris Wheel!

We delivered this first birthday cake to Bloomfield NJ for a Harley Davidson Chopper themed party. The two tier cake was lemon with passion fruit curd buttercream filling and vanilla cake with Oreo cream. The desert colored fondant showed a road spiralling up the mountain, and a sculpted flaming red motorbike with the birthday boy sat on top. Flowering cactus plants, desert grass, rocks and boulders litter the landscape!

Bugs and Bees Mini-cakes

It's Memorial Day weekend already, and the gardens in the Montrose Historic District are looking gorgeous, but now we have to cope with all the bugs!

However these little bugs and bees mini-cakes are just what kids love. This assortment includes the perennial favorite chocolate cake with oreo cream filling, as well as lemon cake with key lime filling for the young fruit fans. A happy looking fondant bug is settled on top of each one.

Now I need a good cup of Earl Grey tea before I get to work on the next cake order: a Louis Vuitton handbag!
