Cape Cod Chairs and Seashell Cupcakes

It's hot! 101 degrees at Cake Fiction this week, so what better than a beach theme cake. The light sea blue fondant covers a small white vanilla cake with Madagascar vanilla bean filling and sliced fresh strawberries. Two cake cod beach chairs and a selection of fondant seashells and starfish, with crumbled cookies for sand, finish off the decoration.

On the cupcake display we added an assortment of vanilla and chocolate cupcakes, covered by a swirl of frosting tinted a light aqua blue and topped with an edible shell.

Delivered to the Assembly Steak House Restaurant in Englewood Cliffs NJ.

Beach Theme Retirement Cake for Police Captain

A Police Captain celebrating his retirement asked us to create a beach theme cake for his party. His Police vehicle is driven into the ocean, all his gear is discarded on the beach and he is relaxing in a hammock strung between two palm trees.

The beach is rum cake with orange chocolate cream and the sea is red velvet cake with Madagascar Vanilla bean filling. Delivered to Matawan NJ.

Paradise Beach Cake

For a bridal shower in Queens NY we created a paradise cake. The couple are planning to spend their honeymoon in tropical Belize!

A large red velvet cake with white chocolate buttercream is covered in sea blue and sand colored fondant. I crafted several padded lounge chairs, a beach hut and a table with two Piña Colada cocktails, not forgetting a straw and a slice of fruit!

A small palm tree gives some shade from the sun shining down on the chairs. To achieve the effect of a tropical beach, I used a mixture of crushed shortcake cookies and granulated sugar. It was beautiful and looked real, when the sunlight shone on the grains of sand. There are also edible sea sugar shells decorating the sand on the sides of the cake.
